The Aged Dependent Relative Visa (subclass 114 and 838) is a Permanent Visa (PR) that allows a SINGLE, OLD person who relies on an Australian relative for financial support to live in Australia. This visa is managed by the Department of Home Affairs.
Aged Dependent Relative Visa Eligibility Criteria:
- Have a sponsor who is an eligible relative or relative’s partner
- Sponsor must be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen (other sponsorship options are available)
- Be old enough to receive pension in Australia
- Have no partner
- Be dependent (food, clothing, clothing and money) on your relative in Australia for at least 3 years you apply for this visa
- At time of application and at time of decision, all applicants must be outside Australia
Subclass 838 Visa Eligibility Criteria:
- Have a sponsor who is an eligible relative or relative’s partner
- Sponsor must be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen (other sponsorship options are available)
- Be old enough to receive pension in Australia
- Have no partner
- Be dependent (food, clothing, clothing and money) on your relative in Australia for at least 3 years you apply for this visa
- At time of application and at time of decision, all applicants must be in Australia
